Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches #5G services in India at the 6th #indiamobilecongress in New Delhi.
Addressing the launch event, he said the cost of 1GB of data was about Rs 300, which has come down to Rs 10 per GB, and 5G is a gift from the telecom sector to 130Cr Indians.
These services will help to provide seamless coverage, high data rate, low latency, and a highly reliable communications system.
Three major telecom giants of the country – Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone – Idea (Vi) will roll out these services in the country by Diwali, with Airtel starting its 5G services in 8 cities from today itself.
We all saw what revolution 4G brought to India when it was launched. It handed a smartphone in almost every hand, making India one of the most tech-adaptable countries.
If we compare the cost of data we pay in India, it’s relatively one of the cheapest in the world. With the launch of 5G in India, now we’ll also be able to enjoy the fastest network technology globally for similar, more affordable prices.

“India may have started late, but we will finish first by ensuring #5G rollout across the nation”, #Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani said at the launch of #5GServices in #India.
He added that Reliance Jio 5G will be present in every taluka, tehsil by Dec 2023.
